双钩廓填法为中国古代书法临摹中常见的技法之一,因其操作过程的相对简便性以及复制原作的高度逼真性,成为中国古代特别是唐宋时期临摹前人书法真迹的重要途径之一。宋元以后,特别是清代中期以后,随着双钩廓填摹本的质量下降、碑学的日益兴起、双钩摹本作伪现象日渐泛滥以及近代印刷术的日益进步等原因,双钩廓填法已经不再是临摹和复制古人书帖的唯一途径,并逐渐走向没落。
