长期以来,我国食品生产的传统观念是解决温饱问题,只追求产品的数量,较少考虑产品的质量与标准。随着人们生活水平的提高,食品污染问题引起了人们的普遍关注。消费者空前关心食品的质量,渴望得到纯天然、无污染的优质食品。食品安全事关广大人民群众的根本利益。胡锦涛总书记在2003年中央人口资源环境工作座谈会上强调,要集中力量先行解决危害群众健康的突出问题,让人民“吃上放心的食物”。为此,发展生态农业,生产有机食品,保障餐桌安全,就显得尤为重要和迫切。

General Secretary Hu Jintao stressed at the forum on the work of the central population, resources and environment in 2003 that it is necessary to concentrate on solving the outstanding problems that endanger the health of the masses and let the people “eat their food at ease.” Therefore, it is particularly important and urgent to develop ecological agriculture, produce organic food and ensure the safety of dining table.
