The Soviet Union has developed a casting method of casting 500t ingots, known as the “Pescho” process. A charge of 10 ~ 50t steelmaking furnace, you can use this technology, a furnace followed by a furnace to cast a steel ingot. The acronym “Pescho” is electroslag casting. The difference between this method and the usual electroslag remelting process is the use of non-molten electrodes and casting of molten steel in an ingot mold that has been previously prepared with a liquid slag layer (see Figure 1).
