通读人教版小学语文教材,我们不难发现,在众多的名人佳篇中,与动物有关的课文占据重要地位。低年级学段,动物在课文中充当了童话故事的主人翁,形象生动有趣,深受孩子们的欢迎和喜爱;在高年级学段则以记实描写动物为主,通过记叙动物与人类之间的事,丰富了动物形象,把动物形象提升到人文精神、生命意识的层面。在小学语文教材中所塑造和描绘的动物形象可以归为以下几类:
