According to a survey released by the Chinese Medical Association Diabetes Unit in 2005, the overall incidence of diabetes with oral diseases was 83.37%, which was 2 to 3 times higher than that of non-diabetic patients. This result suggests that diabetes patients should be the key population for oral health care, while controlling blood sugar, we should strengthen the prevention and treatment of dental caries, gingivitis, periodontitis and tooth defects. The 432 patients with diabetes found that there were 376 people with oral diseases, of which the incidence of periodontitis was 50.93%, the incidence of gingivitis was 32.41%. The survey also showed that the prevalence of dental caries, periodontitis and tooth loss in patients with disease over 5 years was 64.71%, 75.91% and 67.19%, respectively, indicating that the longer the duration of diabetes, the lower the prevalence of oral diseases The higher the prevalence rate.
