Stem cells taken from a patient's adipose tissue may be used to develop new nerve cells that can repair broken peripheral nerves. This is a new discovery by scientists at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. They think the idea of a new nerve fiber made in this way is likely to become a reality in 2011 and be used clinically.
