据WHO估计已有25万多例艾滋病,另外有500～1000万人感染了人类免疫缺陷病毒(HIV-1),其主要传播方式依次是性交,父母和围产期,成人感染艾滋病的平均潜伏期是7.8～8.2年。艾滋病感染进展有4个独立的预告因子,其中最有趣的是CD~(4+)淋巴细胞的比例和绝对值。CD~(4+)分子是在人体淋巴细胞,单核细胞、巨噬细胞表面发现的识别抗原,HIV-1利用这种抗原作为受体,与CD~(4-)细胞表面结合从而进入细胞。艾滋病伴有各种各样心脏的表现,其心脏感染的发病率是很高的,Commarosano等人发现10/41
