With the rapid growth in the technological developments， many traditional textile and fashion enterprises have inevitably been affected under the wave of digital economy. In the age of Industry 4.0 where more customers look for personalized products， enterprises must keep pace with innovative ideas and digital manufacturing to outperform the competitive global market. In response to the escalating expectation towards textile and fashion， the 19th International Exhibition on Textile Industry （ShanghaiTex 2019） will be grandly held on 25th - 28th November 2019 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai， China. With theme “Smarter Textile. Better Life”， ShanghaiTex 2019 has launched a series of concurrent events namely “Textech Galaxy”， aiming at bringing AI technologies ， Wearable Technology and Startup to textile and fashion enterprises， interlinking brands， designers， manufacturers and textile technology， for the cultivation of technology and product innovations for the upgrading of the industry and lifestyles.
Conference on artificial intelligence
In 2019， ShanghaiTex will join hand with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to organize “The 2nd Artificial Intelligence on Fashion and Textile International Conference （AIFT 2019）”， a conference on the latest AI developments and applications in the textile and fashion industry covering topics such as fashion sales forecasting， supply chain optimization， planning and scheduling， textile material defect detection， fashion and textile image recognition， fashion image and style retrieval， human body modeling and fitting， etc. It is not just an annual academic exchange platform gathering the researchers， engineers and professionals， but also an international cross-industry event not to be missed.

In addition， as cross-border innovation and technology start-ups become the driving force for the sustainable development of textile and fashion industry in recent years， ShanghaiTex is launching its first"Textech Startup Planet" zone to push the industry to encourage investment in new technologies， applications and new ideas related to textiles. Startups on wearable， artificial Intelligence， software， yarns and new material， cross-border platform， 3D & smart measurement， 3D modeling， textile recycling and other innovative ideas applied to textile & fashion industry will be featured in the zone.
