Sense of guilt is an important concept of Western culture. In Shakespearean historical plays, “guilty sense” is a religious awareness and a moral requirement of human beings as the main body of life. Shakespeare’s description of “guilty sense” is an important means of revealing the deep psychology of people. In his writing, the priest was a sinless singer, reflecting the author’s total disappointment with the church staff. The images of the kings were far more complicated. Most of them were guilty of guilt, heavyheaded and had a difficult “path of perfection.” The portrayal of priests and kings shows Shakespeare’s reflection on the church, monarchy and ideal personality.
