信阳市的地形可分为山区、丘陵区、平原区。在设计洪水计算过程中共有以下几种计算方法:适线法:此计算方法适用于治理河流设有水文测站,且有多年观测记录资料的河流或河段;推理公式法:当缺乏实测流量等水文资料时,且治理河流流域面积<200km2时,可采用推理公式计算;淮上法综合单位线:缺乏水文资料,治理河流位于山丘区,流域面积>200km2时,治理断面设计洪水可采用淮上法计算;平原公式法:当缺乏资料,治理河流位于平原区,治理断面设计洪水可采用平原公式计算。此方法主要用于淮北坡水区的洪水计算,利用相似河流的一些实测资料推求公式中的相关参数,并结合河道特征和经验确定。
