Since the Industrial Revolution, the development of the productive forces has brought about changes in the social structure and thus also the natural environment. Therefore, in the 1970s or so, ecological ethics was gradually mentioned and concerned by people. Chinese ancient philosophical thought is also now ecologically integrated into the category of ecological ethics. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, a series of ideas emerged such as Taoism, Taoism and Nature, Changzhi Ming, Man and Tianyi. These forward-looking philosophical concepts have broken the dualism between man and nature. This paper explores the influence of ecological ethics in ancient Chinese philosophical concepts on modern design by combing some of the representative Taoist ideas of Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu and by identifying some famous international design cases for analysis and comparison.
