茶马古道,是自唐代以来逐步形成的沟通川、滇、藏边三角地区的古商道,它是以藏族地区的马匹、皮毛、麝香、鹿茸、藏红花、贝母、虫草等特产和四川、云南茶叶产区的茶叶以及邻近地区所产的糖、布、线、粉丝等生活日用品来做贸易的商业通道,主要依靠马帮在山谷、驿道中长途跋涉来运输货品。通过这条民间贸易的商道,藏汉的物资交流自唐、宋以后持续了一千多年,维系了汉藏两地
