Neutrons in the study of energy absorption in biological tissue need to use the detector, model and other tissue equivalent material. The basic requirements for this material are: (1) Their interaction with n, γ-rays in an n-γ mixed field is similar to that of the tissue with n, γ. The most effective way to achieve this is to make the atomic composition of the material the same as or close to that of the tissue; (2) it should be conductive; and (3) to have a certain stiffness and toughness. Over the years, more research work in this area, the more active the United States, followed by Japan. By the seventies, the development of the organization equivalent to plastic is maturing.
