张新虎等人在区域成矿地质背景研究过程中,通过对比研究甘肃北祁连西段镜铁山铁矿外围成矿条件和物化探异常特征,认为祁连山西段具有形成沉积变质型铁矿的地质条件,镜铁山铁矿外围是最有利找矿靶区,建议在其东延带部署“丰乐河—西插山地区1∶5万矿产远景调查”。通过该项目实施,进一步理清了“镜铁山式”铁矿含矿岩系空间展布,先后发现了卡瓦铁矿、沙梁铁矿、光滑岭铁矿等一批铁矿点,实现了铁矿勘查新突破,成为甘肃北祁连西段找矿战略突破行动典型实例。通过前期勘查,目前已获铁矿石资源量达5亿吨。本文从区域成矿背景、含矿层位对比、勘查找矿成果及工作部署思路等方面进行初步总结,对该区铁矿勘查规划和找矿部署具有指导意义。

Through pre-exploration, iron ore resources have now been amounted to 500 million tons. The paper summarizes the regional metallogenic background, the comparison of ore-bearing beds, the results of exploration prospecting and the deployment of work, which is of guiding significance to the exploration and planning of iron ore deposits and the prospecting deployment in this area.
