There is no doubt that English is a difficult course for most vocational college students,and many English teachers have been long frustrated by the weak class performance of their students.However,it is useless for English teachers to complain about the silence in class.What they should do is to change their teaching styles to stimulate the students’interest and creativity in English learning.A new evaluation way which does not only focus on the scores in the examination but also takes the students’daily performance into account can be a solution to help the students regain their confidence and interests in English learning.If English teachers in vocational colleges can make a change in the evaluation ways,both the students and teachers will benefit.
