OBJECTIVE: To study the occurrence and development of ovarian serous borderline tumors from the perspective of molecular adhesion through the detection of CD24 expression in ovarian serous tumors and to detect the prognosis of ovarian serous borderline and malignant tumors. Methods: Immunohistochemical method (S-P method) was used to detect 20 cases of serous borderline tumors in ovary and 20 cases of serous malignant tumors and 12 cases of benign tumors. Results: The positive rate of CD24 expression in borderline ovarian tumors was 55%, which was significantly higher than that in benign tumors (0%) and lower than that in malignant tumors (85%, P = 0.0384). In serous malignancies, cytoplasmic CD24 expression was significantly associated with tumor grade (P = 0.0153). Conclusion: CD24 plays a role in the development of ovarian serous tumors. CD24 indirectly reflects the prognosis of the tumors.
