Tony Morrison’s Song of Solomon is a novels about the growth of black men, but the author is not only focused on men, but spent a lot of ink for the shaping of women. These women are dotted with the life of a baby boy, giving inspiration and clues to his self-development and root-seeking journey, returning the affluent, “white” black child to the past, making up for the missing, obtaining Spiritual freedom. On the other hand, Morrison made a deep exploration on the relationship between the sexes and women’s outlet through the growth of the baby girl, and finally established her ideal about the harmonious coexistence of both sexes.
