文化研究和文化批评自20世纪末以来一直活跃于中国学术界和批评界,几成显学。但这个虽来自于域外、却具有本土针对性和适应性的理论或“学科”,似乎并没有如其外观显现的那样,获得预期的效果。一种批判反思性的理论,自身却成为批判反思的对象,这对理论本身并无坏处。这里刊登的这组笔谈便是这种反思的结果。文章先后涉及到了“大众文化”涵义在当代的变迁,及其如何成为人文学界不得不细加审视的知识难题;如何将文化理论和文化研究不是当作一门具体理论,而是视为类同方法论一样的开放系统,使大众文化的知识研究成为可能;文化批评如何通过现场的话语批判,来纠正日常的文化精神缺损,保持文化本身的创造性活力;文化研究的“中国学派”如何可能———包括文化研究本身的悖论以及中国文化研究“后发型”的机会及其丧失问题;本土大众文化的诸种态势,它的身体化、娱乐化、反智化的双面性以及“哄客社会”的应然和实然状态;如何坚持文化批评,同时又破除文化幻想等等。
Cultural studies and cultural criticism have been active in Chinese academia and critical circles since the end of the 20th century. However, this theory, or “discipline” which has its own localization and adaptability but does not seem to have the desired effect as its appearance appears. A theory of critical reflexivity itself becomes the object of critical reflection, which is not detrimental to the theory itself. The set of written comments published here is the result of this reflection. The article has dealt with the contemporary changes of the meaning of “popular culture” and how it has become a knowledge puzzle that humanities circles have to examine carefully.
