20世纪初,俄国人在修建中东路的同时,也修建起铁路总工厂(卅六棚工厂)。由于这个厂有3000多名俄国职工,他们不但带来外来文化和科学技术,也使一些体育活动较早地传入哈尔滨。1905年,在道里的药铺街(现中医街)和商市街(现红专街)的西端,修建起哈尔滨市第一个体育场,由俄人管理。 At the beginning of the 20th century, while building the Middle East Road, the Russians also built the main railway factory (卅 六 棚 工厂). As this plant has more than 3,000 Russian workers, they not only brought in foreign cultures and science and technology but also introduced some sports activities to Harbin earlier. In 1905, the first stadium in Harbin was built and managed by the Russians at the western side of Daopu Street (now Traditional Chinese Medicine Street) and Shangshi Street (now Red Street) in Daoli.
