小商品的概念目前尚无统一的界定,几十年来,在我国工商经济活动中逐步形成了这样一个通用名称,便约定成俗了。小商品一般是指产品较小、单价较低、利润微薄,品种、规格、花色、型号繁多,消费地域性强,与人民生活密切相关,劳动密集型的工业消费品。例如,小百货、小针织、小文化用品、民用小五金、民用小交电、小农具、小食品、小日用杂品,以及小药品、民族用品中的小商品等等。总之,它的主要特点是大都属于人民生活的必需品,与人民生活息息相关。因此,搞活小商品的生产和流通是一件关系繁荣经济、安定人心、稳定社会的大事。从一定意义上讲,虽是小商品,却又是大问题。小商品有着广大的市场。如何有效地搞活遍布城乡的这个大市场,掌握好这个市场的主动权,是亟待做好的一篇大文章。
The concept of small commodities has not yet been defined in a unified way. Over the past decades, such a common name has gradually been formed in China’s industrial and commercial economic activities, and it is agreed to become common. Commodity generally refers to products that are small in size, relatively low in unit price, with low profits, varieties, specifications, designs, patterns, and a variety of consumer areas. They are closely related to people’s lives and are labor-intensive industrial consumer goods. For example, small department stores, small knitwear, small cultural goods, civilian hardware, civilian electricity, small farming tools, small foods, small household sundry goods, as well as small drugs, ethnic articles, and other small commodities. In short, its main characteristic is that it is mostly a necessity for people’s lives and is closely related to people’s lives. Therefore, invigorating the production and circulation of small commodities is a major issue concerning the prosperity of the economy, stability of the people, and the stabilization of society. In a certain sense, although it is a small commodity, it is a big problem. Commodities have a vast market. How to effectively invigorate this large market in urban and rural areas and grasp the initiative in this market is a big article that needs to be done well.
