As a member of communitarianism, Charles Taylor expounds the overall ontology on which communitarianism is based from three dimensions: self and language community, self and moral space, self and social imagination. First of all, anyone is self only in the community of languages and can be self-explained only by applying the available language. No individual can be his own ego, but must be himself in the network of conversations. Second, moral space is a framework that can not be escaped. The strong evaluation or the nature difference in the moral space provides the standard for individual behavior choice. Thirdly, the ego is also the ego in the social imagination, and the social imagination is the common understanding that gives meaning to the meaning of the practice and makes it possible.
