“绘画性”这一概念时常被艺术家和非美术专业的人士引用,但至今为止,该词的概念边界却并不清晰,更不明确到底是何时才出现“绘画性”这一提法的。本文在研究绘画性概念本身的基础上,直追绘画概念的起源——西方绘画领域中的绘画性概念的变迁史,从艺术理论和艺术家的两个角度探讨绘画性的概念,反问“绘画性”是如何使绘画成为绘画本身,并成为艺术作品本身的。对西方绘画性概念思想的梳理,有利于深入理解当代中国美术界对于绘画本身的实践。
