Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common cause of anovulatory infertility and is characterized by irregular menstruation and hirsutism. The biochemical abnormalities showed elevated levels of LH or LH / FSH, and increased androgen levels. Cortisol metabolism around the disease increased. If the skin of patients with PCOS 5α-reductase activity increased, testosterone is converted into more powerful androgen dihydrotestosterone, resulting in hirsutism. If the liver enzyme activity increased, cortisol is converted 5α-dihydro cortisol increased. In this paper, we investigated whether PCOS-enhanced cortisol metabolism stimulates the production of corticotropin-androgen excessively.
