The 2017 Nobel Prize for Economics was awarded to Richard Seiler in recognition of his outstanding contribution to behavioral economics. Seiler applied the research results of psychology to the analysis of economic decision-making, analyzed the thinking and action modes of economic agents in making economic decisions, and analyzed the influence of bounded rationality, limited self-control force and social preference on individual decision-making behavior. He reveals how human characteristics systematically affect individual decision-making and the resulting market outcomes provide new opportunities for establishing and improving institutions and measures that promote social welfare.
