新现实凸显的是一种立场和态度而非表达方式,是表现内容与形式的待定而非既定。新现实依然秉承了现实主义的批判视角,不过批判的形式趋向于隐含和温和,平和性代替了激烈性,写实性代替了纪实性,但内在的倾向性并没有改变。关注现实、表达现实仍然是艺术家的创作源泉和神圣使命。对新现实绘画而言,思想性是第一位的,其次才是手法和形式。新现实绘画的思想性主要体现在内容的公共性和视角的特殊性,归根结底来自于艺术家的社会观察意识和绘画创新意识。在此意义上,新现实与一部分偏重内容叙事的观念绘画或有交集。
What emerges from the new reality is a position and attitude rather than an expression. It is a matter of pending rather than established expression of content and form. The new reality still upholds the critique of realism. However, the forms of criticism tend to be implicit and moderate, while the peacefulness replaces the intenseness and the realisticity replaces the documentary nature. However, the inherent tendentiousness has not changed. Concerned with the reality, to express the reality is still the source of creation and sacred mission of the artist. For the new realistic painting, ideological is the first, followed by the method and form. The ideological nature of the new realistic painting is mainly reflected in the particularity of the publicity and perspective of the content. In the final analysis, it comes from the artist’s awareness of social observation and the creative awareness of painting. In this sense, the new reality or intersection of conceptual painting with emphasis on content narratives.
