Catherine Bersi is one of Britain’s most prominent post-structuralist literary and cultural critics since the 1980s. Her work interprets British literature and culture from a new perspective and greatly affects British academics and ordinary readers. In her early works, she actively draws on the French theories of the 1960s and 1970s, criticizes the most common theories of imitation and representation in the western traditional literary criticism, refutes the classical realism, promotes the Renaissance literature, and proposes A reading method centered on “active reader ”.
