The clinical manifestations are mostly pain along the sciatic nerve pathway and its distribution area. The severe pain is unbearable, seriously affecting people's work and life. In the treatment, there is no recognized, effective special drugs and specific methods. Acupuncture therapy has no toxic and side effects, is simple, easy to operate, low cost, and is widely used in clinical practice. This paper reviews the literature on acupuncture therapy for sciatica in recent years, so as to better guide clinical practice.
