长时间以来,评论界对如何认定中国文学范畴中的宗教文学和有宗教身份的作家、如何在主流文学框架中把握宗教文学的主旨,以及如何营造一个良性的宗教文学阅读环境与评论环境,一直力不从心。阅读中国社会科学出版社2010年出版的季玢的《野地里的百合花:论新时期以来的中国基督教文学》一书,有耳目一新的感觉。这部书全面而深刻地展现了新时期以来中国大陆、台湾和香港、海外华人作家三部分中国基督教文学的面貌,以详略兼得的方法将六大书写形态归类分析,以学理性的命名方式提出中国基督教文学、中国圣经文学、中国灵修文学、中国救赎文学等概念,并以具体的作家创作来求证其存在及意义价值。此书着实为一部具有重要学术价值与现实意义的拓荒之著,引发时人进一步思索与探究。
