Do you think it is a good way to improve your English by chatting on line? Some junior students think chatting in English will help us a lot.
I don’t agree. Firstly, as you know, when you are chatting, you have no time and energy to pay attention to the grammar and spelling. And no teacher will check and correct errors for you. If you fall into the habit of spelling and writing without thinking carefully, you will probably forget the standard (标准) English at last.
Secondly, it’s hard to find a good partner to teach you how to improve writing. If you meet a worse one, how can he or she help you to improve? It seems that it is a best way to find your English teacher to chat with! But, can your English teacher be on line all the time? No!So please turn back to your dictionary and grammar books after being offline. Thirdly, I think to chat on line is just to kill time. Teachers and parents don’t advise you to do that unless you are good at English and can chat with foreigners. For beginners, you should study hard in class. You should read more with a dictionary in your hand. And you should ask your English teacher questions when you meet problems.
I want to say internet can give us more chances to learn English, but I don’t think it’s the best way for our beginners to improve English by chatting on line.
