This paper presents a brief history of the development of pyroelectric as well as the application of ferroelectric ceramics to pyroelectric detectors. The effects of linear pyroelectricity are discussed in depth. The state equations of ferroelectric ceramics under various boundary conditions are given Class pyroelectric coefficient.A brief introduction to the principle and performance of the infrared pyroelectric detector is given, and the selection criteria of pyroelectric materials and the development of pyroelectric ceramics are reviewed.
