Boulder shovel is a peculiar Neolithic remains in the southwest of Guangxi. This huge body, handsome in appearance, unique in shape, reasonable in structure and exquisitely crafted stone shovel originated from the earlier shoulder stone ax, which was invented and produced by the local Luo and Yue ancestors in response to the needs of primitive agriculture. At that time, the progress of farming methods at that time created a precedent for the Zhuang early “Na” culture (ie, rice culture) with distinct local ethnic characteristics and far-reaching influence. With the development of society and the need of sacrificial rites, some giant stone shovels evolved into rituals devoted to ritual sacrifices for the sake of agriculture and fertility.
