Wu Ye Ti
Last night there was wind and rain,
The door curtains rustled① with
autumn sounds.
By the burning candles, amid the
hour-glasses②,
Leaning③ upon the pillows④
I was strangely stirred.
The affairs of man go on ever,
like flowing water.
My fleeting⑤ life is but a string of
ethereal⑥ dreams,
The rood to drunkenness is smooth
and even
And should be frequently traveled;
The rest are not fit to tread on.

昨夜风兼雨,帘帏飒飒秋声。
烛残漏断频依枕,起坐不能平。
世事漫随流水,算来梦里浮生。
醉乡路稳宜频到,此外不堪行。
