2007年尤伦斯当代艺术中心曾策划了一次围绕八五思潮的展览,该次展览将八五思潮定义为中国第一次当代艺术运动。八五美术运动虽逐渐淡去,但对广州本土当代艺术的发展却是影响深远。文章从八五美术运动十年(1979—1990年)的艺术群体、艺术刊物、艺术展馆、艺术展览等出发,通过将广州与北京、厦门等重要地域的对比,试窥广州本土当代艺术发展的若干问题,并从地域与文化的角度去解释个中差异,探讨广州本土当代艺术甚至中国当代艺术的共同发展之道。
In 2007, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art curated an exhibition on the trend of the Eighth Five-Year Plan. The exhibition defined the Eighth Five-Year Plan as China’s first contemporary art movement. Although the art movement of the 8th Five-Year Plan has faded away, it has a far-reaching impact on the development of local contemporary art in Guangzhou. The article starts with the artistic groups, art journals, art galleries and art exhibitions during the decade of the Art Movement of the People’s Republic of China (1979-1990). By comparing the contrasts between Guangzhou and Beijing, Xiamen and other important places, the author tries to explore the local contemporary art development in Guangzhou , And explain the differences from the perspective of geography and culture to discuss the common development of local contemporary art in Guangzhou and even contemporary Chinese art.
