I. Introduction Physico-chemical and physical-mechanical factors affect the flotation process. Physical and mechanical factors include: ore particle size, pulp concentration, bubble dispersion characteristics, mixing strength and hydrodynamic properties. These have a great influence on the adhesion of the particles to the bubbles and are therefore closely related to the improvement of the flotation speed and selectivity. Gaudin et al. (1931) pointed out the effect of particle size on flotation and summarized the flotation behavior of mineral particles of different grain sizes in some plants in the United States and Canada. Schönmann first studied the flotation rate equation that includes the size of the ore particles and proposed
