Ruan Jingtian’s Another Achievement
You are my Destiny(《爱上琉璃苣女孩》),an idol drama broadcast by Hunan TV since the beginning of 2010,is very high in audience rating(收视率). As one of its protagonists,Ruan Jingtian(阮经天)has also become extremely popular. Besides,he has entered the list of superstars in terms of box office for another film Monga(《艋舺》),whose income has reached 250 million RMB. It is generally believed that Ruan is the best actor among the cast(全体演员)for Monga. This idea is confirmed by the director of the film who said in a telephone call that Ruan was really excellent.
In addition to his increasing popularity,he has won recognition for his beautiful voice. He is the singer of the theme song of Monga with original sound track(电影原声带),for which he is highly spoken of by its producer. More than ten thousand copies were sold within three days after its release.
Before that,Ruan had been chosen by an ice cream producer on the mainland of China as its spokesman and the singer of the theme song for its commercial(电视广告),with a reward of 10 million Taiwan dollars. When making the commercial in Thailand,he said with a smile,“As a matter of fact,I like sunshine and of course beautiful girls. What’s more,I regard it as an achievement to sing a theme song. So,in spite of the hard work,I consider my stay here a way to spend my holidays. ”
Disharmony between Members of Princess Returning Pearls
Since the reappearance of The Little Tigers(小虎队),a famous Taiwanese idol band,in the 2009 CCTV spring festival gala(春节联欢晚会),a rumor about the disharmony between Alec Su(苏有朋)and Banny Chen(陈志朋) has been in circulation. In order to disprove the rumor,the fans of the band have tried to find arguments in Banny Chen’s book Ambitious Banny(《有志者,朋》). In this book,it is said that Banny Chen once defended Alec Su against an injustice by a member of the crew when shooting Princess Returning Pearls (《还珠格格》).
In the book,Banny describes the incident in detail. “When we came to shoot the film on the mainland for the first time,neither Alec nor me knew much about acting. So,during the rehearsal,we were often at a disadvantage. One day,Alec ran up to me,saying that he was taught a lesson by a certain actor. I knew this actor very well because I had to play with him in many scenes. Later,when it was time for me to play with this actor,he behaved in the same manner. He lifted a letter high up so as to prevent me from the camera. In the past,I often kept silent in such a situation. But this time I decided to respond in a different way,because I knew that Alec would play with him in the afternoon. So I moved forward with a serious face and pulled the letter down angrily. Then I swore at (破口大骂)him with vulgar language I never had used before. ”The arrogant actor mentioned here is said to be Zhou Jie(周杰),a troublemaker who plays the role of Er Kang(尔康)in the film.
To this,Zhou Jie gave a response in his blog. He said that the quarrel was due to their different opinions about some lines(台词)in the film. He wanted to make some change,for which he was scolded and attacked by a group of Taiwanese actors who said that he,as an actor from the mainland,was not cooperative and hypercritical(吹毛求疵). Most netizens believe that the so-called Taiwanese actors in his remarks refer to Alec Su,Banny Chen,and Ruby Lin(林心如). Some fans even urge Zhao Wei(赵薇),who is not involved in the rumor,to clarify the incident with impartiality.

Like Madonna(麦当娜),Lady Gaga has become popular throughout the world almost all of a sudden. Her unusual success can be attributed to several factors:her crazy dressing,flamboyant dance and vulgar lyrics. In a word,she has achieved success by satisfying the taste of the young people.
As a matter of fact,Lady Gaga is not only a singer,but also a piano player and songwriter. She has composed songs for such famous singers as Britney(布兰妮)and Fergie(菲姬). Gaga showed her music talents when she was very young. At the age of 4,she learned to play the piano by ear. When she was 13,she composed her first piano ballad. And at 17,she was admitted into New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts(纽约大学艺术学院),one of the leading art schools in America with an annual enrollment of only 20 students. Her major is classical music.
In an interview,Lady Gaga said that she was often made fun of by her classmates when she was a senior high school student. So she didn’t fit in(合群)and felt like a freak(怪人). Even now,she is trying various shocking forms to attract the attention of the public.
Lady Gaga is not an alien(外星人)from the Mars,but another idol produced by a recording company. She has never denied that there is a powerful design team behind her success. She once said frankly that the key to her success was to put together things which were regarded as incompatible.
