ObjectivernIt is still controversial about when, where and how theEast Paleotethys Ocean closed due to the lack of reliablepaleomagnetic data from the blocks or terranes located inboth sides of the suture, which prohibits our betterunderstanding of a series of key scientific issues such ashow major blocks of East Asia collided together, and therelationship between the major blocks of East Asia and thePangea supercontinent before its breakup. This study reportspaleomagnetic results from the Middle Triassic HewanjieFormation limestones in the Baoshan Terrane, northmostextension of the Sibumasu Block (Fig. 1). We aim toaccurately reconstruct paleogeographic position of theBaoshan Terrane during this interval and to further discussthe timing and position of the Sibumasu-Indochina Collision.
