This article draws lessons from the theories of cultural geography, geopolitics and postcolonial criticism. By analyzing the geographical / modern, geographical / national and geographical areas in the representative work of American classic regional writer Sarah Orr Juett, The interactivity between sexuality and globalization aims to prove that the American regional literature of the late nineteenth century was not “an anti-modernist impulse” as it usually did, a simple rejection of modernization, Indifference and avoidance of negative resistance to the process of globalization. Instead, it has a “double vision”: that is, while reflecting on the modern adherence to the region, it has the civic awareness of facing the modern rationality, having a broad international perspective and national identity.
