据报道,洛克希德·马丁航空公司(LMAC)计划对与铱商用卫星系统联接的一种商用货架产品(COTS)处理器进行测试,以验证在超视距通信环境中近距空中支援(CAS)的可行性。该项试验是LMAC公司考察采用COTS技术改进战术任务可行性的研发计划的一部分。LMAC公司将提供一种改进的软件,使VHF/UHF无线电与铱卫星的消息互换,它也可以与全球星和瑟拉亚(Thuraya)卫星网络交联工作。
It is reported that the Lockheed Martin Airways (LMAC) plans to test a commercial shelf product (COTS) processor coupled with an Iridium commercial satellite system to validate the close air support in an over-the-horizon communication environment (CAS ) Feasibility. This test is part of LMAC’s research and development program examining the feasibility of using COTS technology to improve tactical missions. LMAC will provide an improved software to enable the exchange of information between VHF / UHF radios and Iridium satellites and it will also be able to cross-link with the global satellite network Thuraya.
