糠醛渣是将粉碎的玉米穗轴以4%稀硫酸处理,经加热蒸馏制得糠醛后剩下的废渣。凡以玉米穗轴为原料生产糠醛的工厂,每年都有这种大量废渣排出。以辽宁省朝阳县化工厂为例,每年排出约5000吨。该厂往年这种废渣主要为民用燃料廉价处理。根据辽宁省糠醛出口座谈会提供的经验,这种废渣用做肥料大有可为。它不仅对农作物有显著的增产效果,而且对土壤有较好的改良作用。为了明确这种废渣在朝阳地区主要土类上对主要作物的肥效,充分发挥这种废渣在农业增产中的作用,为大办农业、普及大寨县服务,朝阳县化工厂、朝阳农学院在朝阳地区外贸局有关部门支持下,开展了糠醛渣对主要作物的肥效试验。
