中国北京国际美术双年展缘起1895年,意大利威尼斯举办了首届国际艺术双年展。此后,特别是20世纪80年代以来,双年展一直是国际通行的一种艺术展览模式。2003年,参照国际艺术双年展的惯例,经中国国务院批准立项,具有中国特色的中国北京国际美术双年展创办(简称:北京双年展)。展览由中国文学艺术界联合 Biennial of the International Art Biennial of Beijing, China In 1895, the first international art biennial was held in Venice, Italy.
