Objective To understand the HIV status of HIV-infected people in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province and its related risk factors, and to provide a reference for the development of AIDS prevention and control measures. Methods A total of 3798 drug addicts in compulsory drug rehabilitation center in Wenzhou City from 2004 to 2009 were surveyed by using a unified questionnaire for epidemiological investigation and blood tests were performed for HIV antibody testing. Results A total of 3 798 drug addicts were surveyed in 2004-2009. A total of 10 HIV positive cases were detected. The positive rate of H IV antibody in each year was less than 1% and the 90% confidence interval was less than 2%. The average age of drug addicts (32.25 ± 6.52) years old, mainly in the age group of 20 to 39 years, accounting for 88.52%, 76.91% of local household registration. The way of taking drugs was oral, accounting for 72.09%. In recent years, the rate of common syringes decreased year by year (2χ = 16.57, P <0.05). The proportion of drug addicts taking new drugs showed a trend of increasing year by year (2χ = 362.47, P <0.05), and the incidence of commercial sex behaviors had an upward trend (2χ = 74.63, P <0.05) The proportion of condom use decreased year by year (2χ = 17.74, P <0.05). Conclusions Hiv infection rates among drug users in Wenzhou are generally low, but there are still some dangerous behaviors related to AIDS transmission. The rapid development of new drugs needs more attention. For these people, effective comprehensive intervention should be taken to curb AIDS is spread among such people.
