LSAB immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of nm23-H1, p53, PCNA, and type IV collagen in 74 cases of colorectal cancer, and to explore the relationship between their expression and tumor invasion and metastasis. The results showed that the positive rates of nm23-H1, p53 and PCNA in colorectal cancer were 71.6%, 52.7% and 81.1%, respectively. The low expression of nm23-H1 was associated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.025). There was no significant difference in the expression of nm23-H1 between different types of colorectal cancers. The overexpression of p53 and PCNA was related to the degree of invasion and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05). This suggests that the low expression of nm23-H1 only affects the metastasis of colorectal cancer and can be used as a better predictor of metastasis of colorectal cancer. Overexpression of p53 plays an important role in invasive metastasis and cell proliferation.
