In 1519, the Dutch colonial sinister Hérône Cortez reached 400 people in the capital of the Aztecs, Tenokittelan (now Mexico City). Montezuma II considered them messengers sent by the Quetzalcoatl and gave them plenty of jewelery and garments. According to the Spanish records, the temples of the town of Tenokitetlan are soaked in blood, the brazier of porcelain is filled with human hearts, bloody and overflowing, like slaughterhouses. But even more impressive is the bustle of the city: bustling crowds on the streets, traders everywhere selling everything from beans to furniture to live deer.
