本文以丹尼尔·肖的跨文化翻译为理论基础,以西安市的公示语为研究个案,对西安市公众场合的公示语的汉英翻译进行了调查研究。通过对公示语的跨文化特点的分析,指出公示语的翻译应以“归化”为翻译原则。文章从源语的文化信息的确定、目标语文化信息的处理以及跨文化翻译几个方面对西安市的旅游景点、各大商场超市的公示语进行分析研究,并提出了解决的办法。
Based on Daniel Shaw ’s intercultural translation as the theoretical basis and the public signs in Xi’an as a case study, this paper investigates the Chinese - English translation of the public signs in public places in Xi’an. Through the analysis of the cross-cultural features of public signs, it is pointed out that the translation of public signs should be based on “naturalization ” as the principle of translation. The article analyzes and studies the tourism attractions in Xi’an and the public signs in major shopping malls in terms of the determination of the cultural information of the source language, the handling of the target culture information and cross-cultural translation, and puts forward the solutions.
