[West Germany, Nov. 11, 1984, p. 10] The decay heat generated in the reactor after shutdown of the reactor was 10% lower than previously recognized. This is a result recently calculated by the Mapu Institute of Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg and will have a significant impact on the safety standards in the regulation. The residual heat or decay heat in a nuclear reactor is still an estimate so far and is now accurately calculated for the first time. Calculations are based on a new understanding of beta decay in neutron-rich nuclei by Professor Hans-Falkir Krappold and his collaborators at the Maple Institute of Nuclear Physics. According to Max Planck’s conclusion, this new recognition of decay heat
