《Vanity Fair》是英国文库中的瑰宝,作者萨克雷为我们展示了一幅19世纪英国物欲横流的社会画卷。这篇小说笔调暗含讥讽却又不乏幽默风趣,无论是从深度还是可读性上讲都可谓佳作一篇。伍光健先生将此文译作《浮华世界》,以其简洁明快的译笔把这篇外文读物带给中国读者(有时又将中国读者带去萨克雷的《Vanity Fair》。)此文将伍光健先生翻译的《Vanity Fair》的序言部分《Before the Curtain》与原文做对比阅读,并记录下一些不成熟的“比”后感。
“Vanity Fair” is a gem in the British library, author Saclay showed us a nineteenth-century British materialistic social picture scroll. This novel pen ridicule satire but no lack of humor, both from the depth and readability can be described as masterpiece.
