采用气相色谱一质谱联用的方法对玉竹挥发油化学成份进行了分析，并确定了３２种化合物，其中主要成份为不饱和烯烃（３７．０５％）。
The chemical constituents of Volatile Oil from Polygonum multiflorum were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS / MS). 32 compounds were identified, of which the main components were unsaturated olefins (37.05%).
