老年人离开工作岗位后,健康长寿便成为他们生活的主题;要健康长寿,不仅需要有生理健康做基础,还需要健康的心理做保证。从现代医学来看,人体大脑皮层活动和内脏活动功能降低,对人体的衰老有加速作用,特别是忧郁,使中枢神经系统受到抑制,机体某些器官和腺体的功能就会失去调节,引起代谢紊乱,从而为各种疾病的发生打开方便之门。从中医学来看,“百病始于气”,不良心境是致病的重要因素之一。可见,保持心理健康对老年人晚年幸福和健康长寿是非常重要的。
