以百年前(1902年)两江总督张之洞派缪荃孙、柳诒徵等前往日本东京高等师范学校考察教育的时代开始,至今全国大学的规模、学制均已和欧美、日本近於同步。中国传统绘画、书法传习上也采用分科分课方式由众多教师分别教授,而且加上西洋美术科目如解剖学、色彩学、素描、透视学、构成等,实际上的中国文化一一笔墨相关课程只是间断的点缀。日本艺术院校已采用教授工作室和学生选修的方式,现在北京中央美院也开始采用这一方式,以期学生专业个性连贯。
A hundred years ago (1902), Governor Zhang Zhidong of the Liangjiang River sent Miao Quansun and Liu Zuizhen to study tours to higher normal schools in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, the size and academic structure of all national universities have been close to that of Europe, the United States and Japan. In traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy transfer, many teachers are also taught in sub-divided-lesson classes.
