这里介绍根据切屑厚度a来选择螺丝攻圆锥体部分长度的方法。用机用螺丝攻在钢料零件中切削时,a=0.03至0.05公厘;在生铁零件中切削时,a=0.04至0.07公厘。 a的界限数值,可以在0.02至0.12公厘内。但界限数值a的最小界限,是由切削刃口圆钝量所限制的,同时亦希望保持a>P的关系。以高速钢的螺丝攻而论,因此不应使a小于0.02公厘。当切屑厚度a>0.12公厘时,会减少螺丝攻的耐久性,并使被加工表面不尤洁。
